We believe there is a potential for abusive applications of species-specific music in commercial applications. Teyus Music has filed for appropriate intellectual property protection to maximize the chances of advancing animal welfare and avoiding abuses. We are committed to the protection, ethical treatment, and environmental enrichment for all animals. We will not use procedures in any testing that are invasive or will in any way reduce the comfort or life-expectancy of any animal. Our music is designed to bring the enjoyment and emotional power of music into the lives of our mammalian companions, and we are dedicated to that end without the subtraction of less-than-humane testing. Although it would be possible, with extremely invasive brain imaging techniques, to demonstrate the effect of music on cats by recording directly from the neural circuitry in the brain, we will not perform nor condone the use of such invasive procedures to test the efficacy of species-specific music.
We do not seek and will not provide commercial “slaughterhouse” applications of species-specific music.
